Ms Anderson is Chairman of SVI Global Pty Ltd, Chairman of the Melbourne Fashion Festival Pty Ltd – one of the largest and most respected consumer fashion festivals in the world, Chairman of the LKG Advisory Boards, Chairman of The Good Foundation, Chairman of the CEO Circle and Chairman of the Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Technology in Schools. Laura is on the Board of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Epworth Health Care, Fed Square Pty Ltd, the Australian Defence College Advisory Board, and is a Board Member of the Defence Council Victoria. Laura is on the Board of the Fulbright Commission, American Australian Association, the Defence Science Institute and is a Director of several private investment companies.
Laura actively supports philanthropic causes across health, education and economic development locally and globally. She has been honoured as an Australia Day Ambassador since 2010 and was honoured as an Ambassador of International Women’s Day on its 100th anniversary. She was honoured as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport for her contributions to industry and appointed a Governor of the American Chamber of Commerce.
Laura’s international business career began in manufacturing, global trade and technology. She was a Non-Executive Director of the Just Group (840 Retail locations) and Chairman of the Risk Committee. Laura was a Director of Eastern Health (55 hospitals and facilities) and served on the Audit and Risk Committee and the Quality Committee. Laura was the founding Partner of KPMG Australia’s Risk and Advisory Services for Industry Practice and the National Partner in Charge of Strategy and Development.
Laura is an active member of many professional associations including the international Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP/CLM) where she served as the founding President of the Asia Pacific Roundtable from 2000-2003 and the Chartered Institute of Transport, serving in the role of Chairman of the Victorian Section from 1997-1999. She was a key advisor on Industry and Strategy to the Australian Department of Defence 1993-2004. Laura was also a principal advisor on global industry structures, enabling technologies and supply chains to the US National Defence University Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) in Washington DC 2001 - 2004. Laura is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the National Association of Corporate Directors in Washington DC. She is a guest lecturer at Melbourne Business School’s Executive Development Program on Strategy, Risk Management and Corporate Governance.
Laura has worked extensively in the United States, Europe and Asia. She has received many awards for her contributions to industry including transport, retail distribution, manufacturing, defence, and high technology industries. She has earned an international reputation for her innovative contributions in the areas of scenario analysis, strategic planning, risk management and capability development.
Laura is a highly respected public speaker and advisor to business groups, charitable organisations, professional societies, government and academia. She is a discerning entrepreneur, a dedicated wife and mother, passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
