BalletLab is the contemporary dance company of acclaimed choreographer Phillip Adams.
In conjunction with AkE, LabRat is a residency uniting the arts, sciences, and technology, drawing on the resources of RMIT and VCA Universities. It will build bridges between modes of perception and experience in the intangible world of performance and through rigorous design research. Arts, science and engineering are turbulent loves and Adams wholeheartedly wallows in all its prescribed experimentation.
LabRat, in this first iteration, is a platform for researching activities in areas such as augmented reality, virtual reality, scientific visualization, sonification, and haptics, for the sake of developing an exhibition of iconic chair machine interaction, auralization, in a fully media-integrated environment.
