Associate Professor Susana Gavidia-Payne
BPsyc, MSc, PhD
Susana has been involved for approximately thirty years in working with children with and without developmental disabilities and their families as a psychologist and researcher. She has extensive experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating intervention programs, especially those that address young children’s socio-emotional and behavioural development. Currently, Susana’s major research and clinical focus is to investigate the most effective ways to translate research evidence into good practice, so it can assist children, their families and the community service system.
Dr Trish Melzer (Program Co-ordinator and External practicum coordinator)
BBSc, MPsych (Clin), PhD, MAPS
Trish is a clinical psychologist with extensive experience in working with adults and adolescents in public and private settings. Trish has expertise in diagnosis, assessment and treatment of serious mental illnesses and trauma reactions, as well as in high prevalence disorders such as anxiety and depression. Trish is currently a Senior Lecturer in Psychology.
Dr Sharynn Schuster
BA, GradDipAppChPsych, PhD, MAPS
Sharynn is a psychologist and lecturer, with extensive experience in child, adolescent, and family psychology. Her clinical interests include enuresis, behavioural and educational difficulties experienced by children and adolescents, and parenting that promotes resilience and parenting interventions.
Dr Sophia Xenos (Clinic Director)
BA, GradDipAppChPsych, Mpsych, PhD, MAPS
Sophia is a Clinical Psychologist and Senior Lecturer in Psychology. Her clinical interests include anxiety and mood disorders in children, adolescents, and adults, behavioural and educational difficulties experienced by children, parenting, and parenting interventions, particularly with culturally diverse families.
