Focus and scope
Communication, Politics & Culture (CPC) is a highly ranked interdisciplinary journal. Formerly known as Southern Review, it has maintained an intellectual profile and international reputation for excellence in publishing rigorously double-blind peer reviewed articles for more than 50 years.
CPC encourages submissions that bring a critical perspective to understanding the nexus between communication, politics and culture. Its interdisciplinary approach allows for a broad scope of disciplinary frames including communication, social and political theory, critical discourse analysis, and cultural studies, among others.
The journal publishes investigations with global and regional perspectives and encourages theoretical and historical approaches to topics that align broadly with the fields of communication, politics and culture. These might include, but are not limited to: new media, communication technologies, aesthetics, visual culture, textual practices, film and television, literature, popular culture, rhetoric, performance, and globalisation.
CPC also publishes relevant themed issues. Please email suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org
