Key SBi Lab researchers were involved in research and coordination of a series of related external research programs for the Green Loans program.
The Green Loans Program was an Australian Government initiative to help Australians tackle climate change. The primary goal of the program was to reduce energy use, water use, and greenhouse emissions from Australian households. The program aimed to achieve this by offering Home Sustainability Assessments (HSA) and advice on simple home improvements and behavioural changes to reduce household environmental impact.
The SBi Lab team worked on the development of the Household Sustainability Assessment tool. The tool established the impact of heating and cooling, appliances and household fixtures to calculate the energy, greenhouse emissions, and water efficiency of homes and provide recommendations for improving performance.
