Innovating the delivery of student services.
The new Student Hall is not just a revolutionised ‘space’ - its design and feel has been driven by a new customer-centric model for student services designed in response to student feedback. Running across level 4 of buildings 8, 10 and 12, the New Academic Street student services model will accommodate the spectrum of student enquiries while making facilities super-user-friendly.
The system will be multi-modal: if you just need to check something quickly, like a course enrolment query, you will book an appointment on your laptop or smart phone and head off for a coffee. Come your turn, you’ll be sent a text. Or you can use self-help kiosks. For longer enquiries and in depth support, dedicated private spaces for consultation are planned. Roaming concierge staff (students employed by the University) will assist, with staffing levels matched to busy and quieter times.
The space is all about turning over quick queries and providing a much better personalised service in one place. The new Student Hall will be accessible via the three new Swanston Street entrances.
