The RMIT University Student Massage and Myotherapy clinics offer relaxation/therapeutic, remedial and myotherapy treatments to RMIT staff, students and the general public.
The clinics are training facilities for RMIT students who staff them and who are supervised by qualified practitioners.
Relaxation/therapeutic massage therapy
Alleviate stress, increase circulation and endorphins release. Students from the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice perform a 1 hour full body massage which is relaxing, therapeutic and uplifting.
Treat a range of muscular issues including sporting, degenerative or occupational related injuries and conditions.
Remedial massage therapy is suitable for people with muscular pain and discomfort as well as anyone looking to improve their flexibility.
Students who staff the remedial clinic have completed the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice and are studying in the Diploma of Remedial Massage.
Myotherapy offers a specialised approach to assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
Myotherapy includes hands-on techniques but may also incorporate cupping, dry-needling, stretching, and exercise prescription.
Myotherapy is suitable for people recovering from injury, looking to correct postural imbalances as well as helping with muscular and skeletal problems.
Students who staff the myotherapy clinic are qualified remedial massage therapists studying the Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy.
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle technique that promotes lymph fluid circulation throughout the body. Increased movement of lymph fluid assists the body’s natural filtration of toxins, detoxification, excess proteins, fats and cellular waste, thereby reducing swelling and boosting your immune system.
The technique works by stimulating and emptying the lymph nodes, and by applying delicate pressure to the surface of the skin to manually move fluid through the lymphatic system.
Appointments are available at the following day and times.
Multiple bookings per week are not recommended. Please consult your therapist first.
