Media Assets

Welcome to the Media Assets Management System (MAMS). This is a repository of electronic files, including multimedia and images used in the web site. Files are listed alphabetically, by title.

Search for media assets

Use the RMIT web search to search for media. Set the parameters of your search to ‘Multimedia’, to search only media assets. You can search for multimedia from any location within this web site.

Try the advanced search for specific types of queries and ways to refine your search.

Suggested search: Search for RMIT Images CD to view samples from the RMIT Images collection.

Browse the collection

Use the table of contents to browse the collection:

  • by type: The type of media - Audio, Image, Software, Video, etc.
  • by subtype: User-defined sub-categories of the above
  • by group: The organisational unit of the person who uploaded the media asset

Tips for content creators

The web publishing system manual explains how to store media objects: how to upload, how to edit/replace and how to include media in web pages.

How can I find the media asset to edit? To edit a file currently linked from your site (eg, an image or downloadable document), you must be able to edit its record page here in MAMS. You’ll need the title of the file, as the ID will only access that file directly. An easy way to get the title of a file is to select the link in the page footer: ‘Information about this document and its content’. This shows the title that you can use in a keyword search.
