Student cards

All of the Hubs are equipped to produce student cards during operating hours.

All RMIT students are issued with a student card, and should carry it with them when possible. You must produce your student card for identification:

  • when seeking service from your portfolio or school office
  • using the library, computer centre and other campus facilities
  • for most services at the Hub
  • when entering an examination.

Concessions and discounts outside RMIT University are normally available to enrolled full-time students with a current (validated) student card.

New student cards

New student cards are issued to students after enrolment, returning from a Leave of Absence, or if there is a change of program or career (e.g. going from TAFE to undergraduate studies). There is no charge for these student cards.

Please bring the following for the fastest production of your student card:

  • Photo ID
  • Confirmation of Enrolment

Student Cards are available as soon as your enrolment is confirmed.

Please note: student cards always remain the property of RMIT.

Check Hub locations for the operating hours of your closest hub.

Distance students

The Hub understands that students studying by distance may not be able to come in to the Hub to collect their card. We are able to post a card to you if you provide the following:

  • Passport sized photo
  • Certified copy of ID (such as a driver’s licence)
  • Confirmation of Enrolment

These requests will be processed on the day they are received and posted to your current address recorded by RMIT. We will also return your Confirmation of Enrolment to you.

Distance students who are continuing will be sent a year sticker for their student card.

Please note: student cards always remain the property of RMIT.
