Enrolment by proxy

Arranging a proxy

If you are unable to attend the enrolment information session listed in your offer letter in person you can authorise someone else—a proxy—to receive academic advice on your behalf. Your proxy can then relay this information to you and you can enrol online yourself by the deadline specified in your offer letter.

You are responsible for all actions taken by your proxy.

Your proxy can:

  1. receive academic advice on your behalf at a enrolment information session
  2. enrol for you via the paper-based process.

Your proxy cannot under any circumstances enrol online for you.

To receive advice or enrol on your behalf your proxy will need photo identification (e.g.driver licence) and a completed and signed Application to enrol by proxy form (PDF 139.6kb 1p) or a proxy letter (PDF 20kb 1p).

Enrolment online

Only you can enrol online. You should never give your login details to any one else.

If your program requires you to enrol online but you are unable to do so yourself, e.g. due to a disability, you will need to enrol via the paper-based process.

Paper-based enrolment by proxy

If enrolling via the paper-based process you are required to attend the enrolment information session listed in your offer letter before you enrol. If you are unable to attend, e.g. due to illness, you can arrange for a proxy to attend your enrolment information session and then enrol on your behalf.

Onshore international students

Onshore international students are not permitted to enrol by proxy when commencing an RMIT program. You must enrol in person. If you are unable to attend your scheduled enrolment you should contact the International Student Service Centre when you arrive in Melbourne on tel. +61 3 9925 5566 or go to Info Corner, 330 Swanston Street, Melbourne.

If you enrol late you will have a limited choice of timetable. You will not be permitted to enrol if you arrive more than two weeks after the official commencement date.
