It is your responsibility to advise the University that you wish to graduate and receive your testamur (certificate). To be conferred (graduate) you need to apply to either:
If you are being awarded a certificate I–IV or a graduate certificate you can only graduate in absentia.
If you wish to graduate at a ceremony you can apply to attend either:
If you do not wish to attend a graduation ceremony you still need to apply to graduate to be conferred in absentia. RMIT confers in absentia on the last working day of each month, subject to you being eligible to graduate and your school confirming your completion by entering your award level on the Graduation Database. Your certificate will be posted to you by registered mail approximately six weeks after the date you are conferred. Once you have been conferred in absentia you cannot attend a graduation ceremony.
Note: If you have applied to graduate in absentia and your school enters your award level on the Graduation database between 1 November and 12 December 2012, you will be conferred in absentia on the day of the Melbourne Graduation Ceremony. Your testamur will be posted to you in February 2013.
Apply online by logging in to the Graduation database using your student number and date of birth.
You can log in to the Graduation database at any time to view the status of your application, your personal details or your chosen graduation option and to change the order of your name on your testamur (certificate).
If you need a statement that confirms you have completed your program before you receive your testamur you can apply for a Statement of Academic Completion (SAC) (charges apply) by logging in to the Graduation database.
If you are an apprentice or trainee you should not apply online, instead contact your school.
