ITAS is a specialised tutorial program establishedby theCommonwealth Government to improve the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
ITAS offers free tuition for courses in a student's main education program, not for short or bridging courses.
At RMIT, ITAS is managed by the Ngarara Willim Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
It is for students who are doing well in their programs and would like to keep ahead, or for those who feel they need additional tutoring. Students in their first year of tertiary study are especially encouraged to use ITAS, although it is available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at any level.
Tuition sessions can be individual or in a group of students studying the same program.
Ngarara Willim’s ITAS Coordinator organises tutors across a broad range of disciplines. Tutorial assistance is tailored to students’ needs.
