OWL: Handouts: Grammar, Punctuation, and Spelling: OWL is a favourite website for students learning to write in English. It is a very useful site for English as a second language (ESL) grammar and writing at all levels

Centre for Independent Language Learning: this site is from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and has lots of useful information and advice for students whose first language is not English.

Tips for improving your English
Maximise your opportunities for speaking and listening by using English as much as possible:
- Practise speaking with your friends or make friends with people who do not speak your language.
- Watch Australian TV and movies and listen to the radio everyday, for example, ABC 774 am; Radio National 621 am.
- Find a part-time job.
