RMIT University has joined over twelve million Google Apps for Education users across the world.
We have partnered with Google to roll out Google Apps for Education - a set of tools that makes communicating and collaborating easier and more efficient. The cornerstone of Google apps is Gmail, Google’s web-based email program.
Gmail integrates with Google Calendar (to organise your schedule), Google Docs (for creating and sharing documents) as well as additional online tools designed to help you collaborate with anyone, anywhere at anytime. These services are hosted online in an ad-free environment for all RMIT students and staff.
The rollout of Google Apps has been carefully timed to accommodate the academic calendar and will be released in stages to the following groups.

Google blocks any email it considers a possible danger.
All email data is owned by RMIT and its students—not Google. Google is simply a service provider. These and other concerns have been addressed by contract agreements and approved by legal counsel for RMIT and Google.
Our educational agreement prohibits Google from placing ads in the email or on the screens where you view your mail, calendar and documents.
