RMIT University CD&E offer a range of services to support your teaching and learning programs and support your own career development.

Teaching and Learning

CD&E can provide teaching and learning services to your school or department.

Program Specific Workshops are tailored interactive workshops or lectures delivered to your students. Run by qualified career counselors with teaching experience, workshops can be conducted either in-program or as add-ons. To enquire or organise a Program Specific Careers Workshop contact Career Development & Employment or email careers@rmit.edu.au. Workshops run from 1 to 6 sessions and typically fall into one of three categories:

  • First Year: Careers awareness, options exploration and program development, providing undergraduate direction and purpose.
  • Mid Year: Skill audit and development planning, assessment of extra-curricular activities and exploration of work experience to enhance graduate prospects.
  • Final Year: Preparation for employment sessions to equip participants to effectively transfer their educational experience to successful graduate careers.

Employer Secrets Presentations offer the chance for staff and students to hear direct from graduate employers on topics relevant to employment. Topics include:

  • Online applications
  • Assessment Centres and Psychological Testing
  • Resume writing and job application
  • Interview skills

On-Campus Employment

Looking to employ a student or graduate for short-term work placement, or casual, part-time or full-time work?

Advertise on-campus vacancies through RMIT University’s very own online jobs database, eJOBS. To start using eJOBS, all you need to do is register. Once you have been approved, simply login with your username and password each time you enter the site.

Staff Development

Staff can access the RMIT Professional Development Network to find out about professional development programs and services including upcoming workshops and conferences, information regarding grants and scholarships and a comprehensive list of internal and external providers.

Resources designed to support the delivery of careers information to your students.

CD&E Fact Sheets CD&E has produced a number of guides designed to help youor your students with resumes, job search and interviews.

Careers Library Print, video and CD-ROM resources for careers and employment. Includes employer brochures, Graduate Careers Council of Australia resources and CD&E Fact Sheets. Print resources are available at RMIT City (14.4) and Bundoora Campuses.

Lunchtime Workshops are offered three lunchtimes a week during semester. For dates and details of the workshops see Calendar of Events. Topics include:
