Graduate Opportunities/Graduate Futures
Graduate Opportunities and Graduate Futures are the official annual directory of graduate employers in Australia and New Zealand. They contain excellent editorial articles offering advice to students and a comprehensively indexed guide to employers. Produced on behalf of the GCCA by our publishers The Good Guides Group, GO is endorsed by the AV-CC, AAGE and NAGCAS.
Your Career and You
A self-assessment guide for students and graduates. Recently updated to reflect contemporary work practices, it helps readers to consider their goals, values, attributes and skills as a basis for career exploration.
Graduate Destination Survey (GDS)
The Graduate Destination Survey is Australia’s official annual review of the activities of university graduates who have recently completed their qualification. Graduates are surveyed around four months after course completion and the report analyses their employment status, type of work gained and further study undertaken.
Postgraduate Destination Survey
This report is an extension of the Graduate Destination Survey which provides details of those graduating with Diplomas, Masters degrees, PhDs and other postgraduate qualifications.
Course Experience Questionnaire (CEQ)
The CEQ is an annual survey about the attitudes of graduates towards their courses and the skills they acquired whilst undertaking tertiary education. Once again, universities throughout the country participate in the survey which is believed to be unique to Australia.
Postgraduate Research Experience Questionnaire (PREQ) Australia’s most highly qualified postgraduates are asked a similar range of questions to the CEQ (above) but with the focus on the research environment. The material is collected as part of the Graduate Destination Survey.
Brochures from Australian Employers are available for students to take away. Includes graduate, vacation and cooperative opportunities.
The library has an extensive range of current UK University Handbooks and information on overseas employment and exchange programs.
Ever wonder who your professional association is and what they can offer? Information brochures are available on a range of professional associations that offer student memberships.
To improve the RMIT careers service, both the City and Bundoora CD&E Libraries are currently being redeveloped. If you have any feedback or suggestions on how the library can best serve your needs, please email them to careers@rmit.edu.au.
Aside from the resources found in the CD&E libraries, the RMIT University Library has also set up a fantastic information page - Finding Information on Career Development & Employment. This valuable resource tells you where and how to find careers information in the City and Bundoora campus libraries, as well as providing links to external careers information providers.
