The RMIT University Careers Expo has grown rapidly since it inaugural year of 1996 to become one of the biggest events on the RMIT calendar. More than one-hundred employers exhibited in 2007 and even more are expected to exhibit in 2008.

The Careers Expo is primarily aimed at penultimate (second last) year and final year students interested in taking up graduate recruitment programs after they graduate, but a worldwide graduate shortage means more organisations are interested in students undertaking postgraduate study. For similar reasons, organisations that have usually focused their graduate recruitment programs on more traditional disciplines such has accounting and engineering have evolved in recent years to include a much wider range of interest areas. As a result, many of the private and public sector employers registered for the 2008 expo have expressed interest in hearing from students in disciplines ranging from IT and social science to education, media and even art and design.

Attending the Careers Expo means you can meet prospective employers face-to-face, collect information and ask questions about their programs. You can also gain valuable tips by attending the employer forums, where employers present on topics ranging from writing applications to making the best impression at interviews. However, the main advantage of the expo is that it is jam-packed full of organisations looking specifically for RMIT Students. Who knows? They could be looking for you.

See you on the 4th of March at Telstra Dome!
