We have divided our web site into five areas:

Firstly some general information about the Disability Coordination Officer program and DCO contact details and then broader disability topics such as statistics on people with a disability, inclusive language tips and a sample of websites that may be of use. Enter the general information section

The second section is transition and contains several links as there are a variety of topics that needs to be covered. Starting off with topics for people who are considering mainstream TAFE and university courses such as the transition from secondary school to tertiary study, the disability support services available in TAFE and university, disclosure of disability, special entry schemes, equity scholarships and financial information and accessible student residences accommodation. Then there is information on options and pathways other than TAFE and university such as apprenticeships and traineeships, the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), the Certificate I in Work Education and the Futures For Young Adults (FFYA) program. Enter the transition section

The next section is devoted to careers and employment and provides, amongst other things, details on obtaining part-time employment, disclosure in employment settings, some websites, the Willing And Able Mentoring (WAM) program for graduates with a disability, financial incentives for employers to hire a person with a disability and a list of specialist disability employment agencies, Centrelink offices and Commonwealth Rehabilitation Services in metropolitan Melbourne. Enter the careers and employment section

The fourth section contains regional information such as local government areas, secondary schools, TAFE Institutes and Universities, local learning and employment networks (LLENs) and Area Consultative Committees. Enter the regional information section

Lastly there’s a link to the latest projects and activities that the DCOs are undertaking. Enter the current project and activities page. (Not yet activated)
