Chaplaincy celebrates Harmony Day

RMIT University’s Senior Chaplain, Dr Ruwan Palapathwala, hosted a Harmony Day lunch last month.
The Chaplaincy team now boasts 14 members who represent most of the major faiths – reflecting true workplace diversity at RMIT.
Dr Palapathwala was joined on the day by Riad Galil (Muslim), Jo Dirks (Catholic), Father Antonio Cagnoni (Orthodox), the Venerable Bodhicitta (Buddhist) Dr Carolyn McSwiney (Catholic), Sister Maureen Merlo (Catholic), Pastor Nelson Pervaz (Pentecostal), and Robina Bamforth (Chaplaincy Assistant).
The other members of the Chaplaincy team are Nathan Hedt (Lutheran), Father Kyril Gavras (Orthodox), Richard Bull and Robert Miller (Anglican), and Rabbi Daniel Rabin and Rabbi Chaim Herzog (Jewish), who were not able to attend.
The Chaplaincy team were also joined by members of the Student Services group – Dr Kitty Vivekananda (Student Wellbeing), Melissa Lowe (ISIS), Gavin Mandrelle and Sally Orpin (Student Communications).
