Professor Jim Barber welcomes the teams.

RMIT Vietnam buildings provide the backdrop for the on-field action.
A game of Australian Rules football hosted by RMIT Vietnam has helped raise thousands for bushfire-stricken communities.
The Vietnam Swans took on the Bali Geckos at RMIT International University Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City campus.
The match, which began with a minute’s silence, was played under the slogan “Asian Football – Supporters of Courageous Communities”.
The teams were welcomed by Professor Jim Barber, President of RMIT Vietnam, which donated the ground hire fee.
Together with a charity auction the night before, the match raised $4,336 for the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football Netball League.
Phil Johns, National President of the Vietnam Swans, thanked Professor Barber for RMIT’s support.
“It was just great to be able to use the facilities at RMIT. It is a venue that we never take for granted.”
