The RMIT Business Lecture Series focuses on innovation in the science, technology and business arenas and features individuals who have made very significant contributions to their fields overseas or locally.
The audience is drawn from the Melbourne business, government and academic sectors.
Past speakers include Evan Thornley, Chair, LookSmart, David Gonski, Chair, Coca Cola Amatil, David Miles, Chair, National Innovation Council, Rob Hunt, Managing Director, Bendigo Bank, Jim Peacock, Chief Scientist of Australia and Rhonda O’Donnell, President, Novell Asia Pacific.

The Competition is designed to foster entrepreneurial activities by giving RMIT students the opportunity to take their bright ideas and develop them to produce new, innovative companies and ventures. The Competition is open to all students of all sectors and in all locations of the University.
Participating teams (of at least two members) develop professional business plans and submit them to a panel of judges. Each team must have at least one currently enrolled student. A prize pool of up to $80,000 will be distributed amongst the winning teams.
Professional Skills Seminars and Business Mentoring are provided to assist teams throughout the three stages of the competition .
This is a great opportunity to develop professional business planning skills under the guidance of business experts.
Orientation is enjoyed by new (and returning) students. It is focused on learning how to study, as well as being inducted into university life – meeting students and staff, joining clubs, playing sport, and being fed and entertained. At this annual event RMIT Business presents a number of prizes, awards and scholarships to current students and recent graduates in recognition of their academic achievements and community contribution. RMIT University's Open Day is held on the second Sunday in August each year. Staff and students are available to help future students, their families and others with program advice. Mid Year Expo
RMIT University offers mid-year entry for a range of programs, so there’s no need to wait to start your studies. Places are available in a range of government-funded and full-fee programs in undergraduate, postgraduate and TAFE program areas. Future students can apply until the end of May, with classes commencing in July.
