Student Profile: Emma Ball Dr Emma Ball, MBA student Master of Business Administration (2005) Dr Emma Ball, an MBA student at RMIT Business, has enjoyed learning alongside students from different backgrounds. “The diversity of students in the MBA program has helped me to learn about the operations of organisations sodifferent to my own,” she said. Ms Ball, who has a PhD in androgen receptor function in endocrine and neurological diseases under her belt, has also worked for several years on commercial scientific projects. The molecular biologist realised she needed a better understanding of commerce to pursue a career in commercial medical and biotechnological research. “I needed to add some business skills to my ‘toolbox’ to complement my scientific training,” says the 34-year-old project manager, who juggled her work at Prima BioMed Limited with her part-time studies. “I was drawn to RMIT because of its applied ‘hands on’ approach to learning and its student mix, which has expanded my knowledge of other industries.” …………………………………………………… More information: |
