Research at Business

Welcome from the Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor Business (Research)

Research is a core College of Business activity. Both knowledge creation (through research) and knowledge dissemination (through teaching and work integrated learning) are essential activities in which we are engaged. We have a special focus in pursuing rigorous research that provides solutions to industry and society at large and which promotes social, cultural and economic benefits.

The College of Business is a community of experienced researchers, passionate about discovering and building solutions to business problems and uncovering legitimate explanations for trends in global and urban business.

The College of Business has taken advantage of its superb location in the heart of Melbourne to take a pro-active leadership role in establishing close links with industry and addressing research issues that are relevant to business and which provide far reaching benefits. Our researchers are currently engaged in a range of research projects sponsored by the Australian Research Council and industry partners. Our Schools cover the disciplines of business, management, law, accounting, information and communications technology (ICT), information management, logistics, marketing, economics and finance.

Our researchers are internationally recognised and have a variety of research strengths, including finance and economics, digital business, logistics, employment relations, corporate governance, environmental accounting and knowledge management..

We believe that a collaborative environment is central to encouraging outstanding research and we hope that you will join with us in experiencing this at the RMIT College of Business.

Prof Geoffrey Stokes, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation
