Working on their RMIT Global Passport

Australian Student Visits a Fellow Student in China.

In January 2007 Brendan Nightingale, who graduated from the Bachelor of Business (Information and Knowledge Management) in 2006, went to China for a six-week visit with Andy Li, who also graduated from the same program in 2006. During their studies Brendan and Andy developed a strong friendship and they hatched the idea that Brendan could visit Andy in his hometown at the end of their program. Brendan, who worked a regular part-time job in retail while he was studying, funded his trip from his own savings. He stayed with Andy's family in a regional city and then they travelled around China to see wonderful sights such as the Terra Cotta Warriors and Hong Kong. Andy's family were thrilled to welcome one of Andy's friends into their midst. Because of their warm and generous hospitality, and Andy's skill as an interpreter, Brendan now has many wonderful memories of their trip. But more than this, Brendan and Andy have made a connection that will grow over the years as they get established in their own careers. Andy's family sent him to Australia to study and Brendan too has stepped into Asia for an experience that shows vividly the Global Passport in action. RMIT School of Business Information Technology provides the opportunity in partnership with students and their families - then the world opens doors to new experiences and networks that once could only be imagined! The School congratulates Brendan and Andy and wishes them well.
