Philosophy and Values
The School of Management has adopted the eight Principles of the RMIT Staff Code of Ethics. This means that we:
- are committed to student-centred, quality learning opportunities.
- work towards building a harmonious working environment in which we maximise our professional performance.
- recognise and value the contributions made by people to the University.
- demonstrate openness and fairness in all our dealings with people.
- respect the essential dignity of people.
- recognise our responsibility to build civilised communities.
- care for the social and natural environment.
- value and support the right to confidentiality.
In addition, the School of Management will:
- aspire to the highest professional standards in all aspects of our work;
- offer a supportive, respectful, equitable and rewarding environment for staff and students;
- provide an environment in which all people, whatever their social, national or economic background, may reach their full potential; and
- be tolerant of the diversity of people, cultures, experiences and views that contribute to the richness and creativity of university life.
Overall the School seeks to become recognised as a centre of excellence in teaching, learning, consulting and research in management practice.
