A Watson Wyatt Worldwide study (1997-2002) revealed that effective HRM practices are linked to significant increases in shareholder value. So if people are the core of your business, you need staff who understand the complexities of managing human resources in the contemporary business environment. And if you want a smoothly functioning and profitable organisation, then HRM and IR practitioner skill and knowledge, inextricably interlinked into all your organisational operations, is mandatory. RMIT has developed graduate programs to meet these needs of today’s organisations and practitioners in HRM and IR. Our Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations is aimed at specialist and management professionals who want to further develop their skills and knowledge in these functional areas. It includes opportunities to explore, and to apply contemporary rhetoric and theory to existing conditions and planned organisational projects. Our Masters in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations then builds on the Graduate Diploma to offer students the opportunity to undertake a major live field investigation of an issue or problem in their workplace. So your work is enhanced, deepened and polished by your studies and your studies are unique explorations of your work. Increasingly industry is seeking graduate practitioners with sophisticated, current knowledge of this field who can influence and model HRM/IR practice, and as a result enhance the quality of employment relations and bottom-line organisational effectiveness. You can be one of these practitioners. These programs are aimed at those with strong work experience and who are now in mid-career. Perhaps you are already a HRM or IR specialist, or you may be a line manager who deals with HRM/IR issues daily in your operational or even strategic role. And perhaps you want to be an even better specialist practitioner or an even more respected and knowledgeable line manager. Talk to us – we can help you grow those skills and that knowledge. (The respect, however, is up to you.) For more information please check out our Frequently Asked Questions page, or else you can contact:
