About online attendance

Will you be unable to make it to Melbourne? Then the virtual participation or ‘webinar’ mode is ideal for you.

Through Elluminate Live!®, the virtual participation mode has been established for the Green Building and Design conference with the same validity as a ‘physical’ participation in the event (certificates, access to presentation, possibility to ask questions etc.).

This is what Andrew from Sydney had to say about last year’s online conference:

“The conference was great! Thanks to you, Robyn and the rest of the team to make our virtual attendance such a great delight. I was very impressed with how well the online participants were integrated into the conference.”

Conference fee for online attendance: $ 770

Register online or telephone Short Courses on 03 9925 8111.

Online registrations close Friday 20th August 2010.

Whether you have a PC or MAC computer: participating in the webinar is really easy. Test it today and join us in the real-time Green Building and Design conference room.

Getting ready

All you need is a computer with internet access and speakers. As you can type your questions, a microphone is not compulsory, though if you would like to talk directly with the moderators before the conference and during breaks, a microphone will be necessary.

Do not worry if you do not have a broadband access: Elluminate Live!® runs on high-speed LAN as well as through a dial-up connection.

Make sure you have administrator rights to install software.

Installing the software

At least 24 hours before the start of the conference, go to the Elluminate website and the “First Time Users” section. This checks if you have Java Web Start installed. If not, just follow the online instructions. As the installation of Java Web Start can take up to 40 min, depending on your internet connection speed, please allow sufficient time to complete the download and installation before the conference.

Join the Configuration Room on the website to test your connection.

To learn about how the interface works, try the Recorded Introduction, which only takes a few minutes. Here all the features, like raising your hand, submitting questions etc. are explained.

Technical support

In case of technical difficulties visit the Technical Support Portal or call the 24/7 Help Desk number 1800-267 338 toll free. If you are calling from outside Australia, please check the above page for the free Help Desk phone number in your region. RMIT cannot guarantee that all technical issues can be resolved. In some instances you may need to consult with your telecommunications provider.
