Process for Putting Information on the School of Art Website

Staff Profiles

If your staff profile is out of date or you want update your contact details (anything in the box table at the top of the page) please refer to the “Staff Profiles” heading in Web Services in Design and Social Context. Completed proformas should be forwarded to the School of Art’s Web Content Manager. Please note that in order to publish some web content, RMIT will require a signed IP permission forms.

In addition to the template, please note the following:

  • School of Art Research Cluster Affiliation
  • Qualifications: please format as “degree (specialization), year; degree (specialization), year; degree (specialization), year.” Qualifications should be ordered from most current.
  • Research Outputs: Please Use APA Format for entries. Outputs should be ordered from most current.
  • Research Supervision: please format as: “Maria (Tin Tin) Wulia, PhD, Precarious Spaces: Thin wobbly lines between dichotomies in geopolitical boundary negotiations. Due for completion 2011. (Senior Supervisor, RMIT).”

School of Art web pages

If you are interested in editing information on the School of Art web site, it is necessary to receive permission from the appropriate coordinator/director. Please note that any staff member may submit information directly for news and events.

To edit or add information please refer to Web Services in Design and Social Context and contact the School of Art’s Web Content Manager. For discussions regarding the layout of pages, please arrange a meeting with the Web Content Manager.

Please note that in order to publish web content, RMIT often requires a signed IP permission forms.

School of Art Research project web pages

For submitting research projects for publishing to the RMIT School of Art website, please follow the instructions below. Please note that forms and instructions are for both Research Cluster projects and Postgraduate research projects.If you need to update your Staff profile, please refer to the heading above.

All new projects require the following:

  • A completed Research Project Proforma
  • Completed IP permission formsfor all artists, performers, authors and photographers who are submitting work to be published on RMIT’s website. On the form, clearly indicate the name of the project and your name. Please submit this form to the Research Cluster Assistant (do not submit this form to the copyright offices as instructed on the form).
  • Please follow the media guidelines and include 1-4 images or artworks for each project. Captions must be completed on the Research Project Proforma. We recommend all projects include images; if the project is a symposium, seminar or publication photographs of lectures, posters or publication covers can be provided.

Forupdates to existing projects, complete the Research Project Proforma and select “Update to existing project” on the form.

For Research Cluster Projects and Postgraduate Research Projects pleasesubmit forms and media files to your Research Cluster Leader for approval. The Intellectual Property form must be signed. If you do not have an electronic signature, you can scan the form and email it, or submit it via RMIT Internal Mail.

Media Guidelines

Please follow the guidelines carefully:

  • Images: jpg, gif, tif or png format. Maximum of 400px high or 500px wide. Images can be resized if necessary.
  • Video:mpg, mov or avi format. Maximum 3 min. Footage will be reduced in ratio and file size when received for web compatibility.
  • Audio:mp3 format. Maximum 3 min for verbal audio. Sound and music tracks have no time restrictions.
  • Interactive/animation: Flash format. Maximum of 350px high and 500px wide.
  • Documents: pdf, word .doc or excel .xls formats. Preferably no larger than 1mb in file size.

Intellectual Property and Permission Forms

If RMIT does not own the copyright for content, the copyright holder must complete, sign and submit a form to allow RMIT to use their work for promotional purposes. This includes but is not limited to permission from artists to use images of their work, from authors/publishers to use excerpts of text, from performers/models to use images of recordings, and from photographers/videographers to use their photographs and digital videos. Do not submit this form directly to the copyright office. For Research cluster projects please send this completed form to the Research Cluster Research Assistant. For all other content please send this completed form to the Web Content Manager.
