Youth Work

Youth Work is about realizing justice for young people. It entails securing young people’s well being while recognising their moral status as human beings, their associated human rights, entitlements and obligations. The program is designed to provide academic knowledge and professionals skills for those wishing to embark on a career working with young people.

The program aims to provide:

  • knowledge and skills related to the role and status of young people as a bases for youth work practice, advocacy, planning and management,
  • knowledge and skills in working with young people in face-to-face situations.

Students focus upon young people’s roles in society, the family, at work and at play. The program enables students to apply classroom studies, develop vocational skills and experience, plus establish strategic networks and contacts for future employment in the youth work profession.
