Desperate students may seek refugee visas

RMIT lecturer in sociology of migration Dr Shanthi Robertson says that the number of international students attempting to claim refugee status is likely to multiply by the middle of next year. This is due to changes in the way the government has dealt with permanent residency and skilled migration laws, according to Dr Robertson.
