Located in Melbourne, Australia, RMIT University’s School of Applied Communication offers one of the country’s most highly sought-after undergraduate degree programs in Journalism, as well as a superior graduate diploma qualification. Our programs are recognised by those working in the news media industry and by journalism academics around the country. As part of their studies, students take part in daily live radio bulletins for community radio, and weekly current affairs programs for community television. In a challenging employment environment, RMIT Journalism graduates have a strong success rate. Most students find work in the news media within six months of graduating.
Calling all Journalism graduates
RMIT is proud of its community of journalism alumni. Many graduates are making their mark in print and electronic media organisations across the world, while others are carving out interesting careers in communications roles in business, government, education and other fields. We would like to stay in touch with these graduates through RMIT Alumni. RMIT graduates are encouraged to register on the on-line Alumni Directory at http://www.alumni.rmit.edu.au (click on "Join the Directory"). Membership is free! Alumni Relations can then help you maintain valuable relationships with other RMIT alumni and the School of Applied Communication by providing:
- special email messages, such as job opportunities RMIT Journalism might be asked to promote to alumni, and opportunities to be involved with RMIT events;
- monthly email newsletters, including alumni profiles, news about alumni achievements, and information for career development and life-long learning;
- networking through online Alumni Directory
- discounts for single courses and short courses at RMIT
- …and more!
