About your offer and how to accept it
RMIT will make an offer after your application is assessed as successful. The time taken to assess your application depends on the prerequisites that need to be met. Postgraduate and art and design applications often take longer than other programs. You can check the progress of your application online.
You must accept your offer of a place by the date on your letter or it will lapse. As soon as you accept your offer you need to organise a flight and an international student visa to make sure that you arrive in Melbourne in time to find accommodation and RMIT.
Your application is assessed
If your application is successful You will receive a Letter of Offer for a place at RMIT University.
- You must accept the offer by the date stated in the letter. An offer may be withdrawn by RMIT if a program is full so it is important to accept your offer as soon as you can.
- If you decide not to accept the offer, you must immediately send us a letter or fax explaining your reasons for declining the offer.
- If you want to defer your offer for one or two semesters (a maximum of up to one year), see here on how to defer: www.rmit.edu.au/international/defer
