Facilities

Computer Aided Design

The Wackett Aerospace Centre has CAD facilities and experience in CATIA v5, AutoCAD and rapid prototyping.

Experimental Facilities

The Wackett Aerospace Centre has access to a range of experimental testing facilities.

These include:

  • Wind tunnels
  • MTS structural testing machines for static and fatigue testing
  • Composite manufacture and testing
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Dynamic and vibration measurements

Computer Facilities

The Wackett Aerospace Centre has a network of engineering workstations, hosted by a Silicon Graphics Origin 200 processor and server. Software codes available include AAA, ANSYS, FLUENT, VSAERO, NASTRAN, PATRAN, DYTRAN, FATIGUE, VISTA, MODAL SE, MATRIXx, MATLAB. Access to the Ormond High Performance Computing Facility may be arranged.
