If you have ever wanted to make something for yourself, design and build robots, find a better material, manage a team, or wondered how a car is made, manufacturing and materials engineering is the course for you.

About the discipline

RMIT has been delivering high quality programs in the manufacturing and materials discipline for more than twenty years.

The school maintains an impressive reputation for producing quality products and designs, while maintaining a work-relevant education curriculum.

Highly trained professionals from the service and manufacturing industries assist students to create and design innovative products, systems and equipment from raw materials.

Some of the schools successes include:

  • Design and development of a safety equestrian stirrup to protect horse-riders from serious injuries in a fall.

  • Designing the smart system to track movement goods between cities and stores.

  • Participating in the world’s RoboCup Competition.

  • A student awarded Endeavour Scholarship for a 6-months study tour overseas.
