RMIT celebrated the sustained excellence of RMIT teaching staff and researchers at the Teaching and Research Awards, in Storey Hall on 1 December.

Professor Aleks Subic from the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering won the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Research Excellence.

This award recognises sustained excellence in research over a period of three years against research benchmarks for quality, including research publications, research student training and research grant success.

“I have been involved in many large scale projects based on supporting industry performance.  My work has focused on enabling projects for industry including areas of sustainability such as hydrogen-powered vehicles”.

“I believe that my research has the capacity not only to impact industry performance but also to transform my team and the School in general, by mobolising and inspiring staff and developing their research capacity. It’s not about me, it’s about the team and the outcomes we wish to achieve collectively,” Professor Subic said.
