• Organizing institutional training programmes on traditional Chinese medicine for qualified practice;
  
  
• Organize training programmes for researchers in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicines;
  
  
• Conduct a clinical study on the use of electro-acupuncture to reduce opioid medication in patients with chronic pain;
  
  
• Conduct a clinical study on the combined therapy of electro-acupuncture and cognitive behavioral therapy for tension-type headache;
  
  
• Conduct a study of acupuncture vs. pharmacotherapy for acute pain relief in hospital emergency departments;
  
  
• Conduct a clinical study on the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for seasonal allergic rhinitis;
  
  
• Experimental study on Danshen (Salvia Miltiorrhiza): the genetic identification, phytochemical properties, its anticancer and cardioprotective effects, and effects on drug metabolism;
  
  
• Experimental study on pharmacological action mechanism of a Chinese herbal formulation clinically used for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD);
  
  
• Taking ad hoc assignment to support WHO's activities and contribute to networking of WHO CCs for TRM;
