The Mathematical Science discipline delivers degree programs in Mathematics and Statistics.
The undergraduate Mathematics program focuses on applying maths to real-world problems, which makes our graduates highly sought after employees. Theory is linked to practical projects and applied to real scenarios. These programs incorporate the use of industry-relevant computer software packages Maple, Matlab, Mathematica and Minitab.
The undergraduate Statistics program is one of the only standalone statistics degrees offered in Australia. It is highly regarded for its industry engagement and employment focus. Graduates of this program are highly prized for their hands-on IT literacy, their problem solving skills, and their exposure to real-world statistical problems throughout their studies.
Following the successful completion of some programs, students may progress to higher-level programs such as an honours degree or postgraduate coursework or research degrees.
