The School of Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences has a long-standing reputation for world class research and teaching. Our teaching is built on a strong link between theory and practice, producing graduates that are well matched for the challenges of the contemporary and future workplace. Our staff are prominent in international research. Research in the School is organised into several specialities; these span a broad spectrum of science, including sports statistics, remote sensing, computational mathematics, applied mathematics, GIS (geographic information systems), community safety, information security and resource modelling.

Our staff are highly trained and qualified with many years of teaching, research and consulting experience. They are committed to student education using innovative teaching practices and they have received RMIT and National Awards.

Our programs are in high demand by Australian and International students and are highly valued by industry and key employer groups.
