Our role
RMIT Archives commenced in November 1995 and is situated within Chancellery. Our role is to:
- manage a comprehensive archival collection
- ensure the preservation of essential records
- provide a valuable information resource for administrative, academic, and research purposes
- ensure all sections throughout the University capture and preserve essential records from key activities and that access to these records is appropriately managed
- develop services to the University that facilitate the management of records, irrespective of record formats and media. These services comply with record keeping standards of the Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) and the International Standard for Information and Documentation - Records Management (ISO 15489-1).
