Students, staff and authorised contractors require a network (NDS) password to access the RMIT network on and off-campus. This page contains information about what to do if you forget, or want to update, your password or need help to change your mobile device password.
Note: You are required to change your network (NDS) password every 180 days.
If you’ve previously created a challenge question, you can establish a new password by following the online prompts.
If you haven’t created a challenge question, you will need to contact the IT Service Desk to reset your password.
If your password is valid (current)
Use your current (not expired) or temporary password to change your password by following the online prompts.
If your password has expired and you have grace logins
Use your grace login to change your password.
If your password has expired and you don’t have any grace logins

If you haven’t created a challenge question, you will need to contact the IT Service Desk to reset your password.
It is strongly recommended you create a challenge question in case you forget your password. This will allow you to reset your password answering an obscure question to which only you will know the answer. For example:
