Geospatial Science is an exciting and rapidly developing field. If you are interested in learning more about measurement science, cartography, spatial information science (GIS), geodesy, remote sensing, surveying and GPS, you should consider a career in geospatial science.

Geospatial Science is the discipline that is all about location. If we understand where things are and how they are connected, we better understand our world. Geospatial scientists use location as the key to collecting, managing, analysing and interpreting information.

At RMIT University, the Geospatial Science discipline provides:

  • Undergraduate teaching in the Bachelor of Science (Geospatial Science) and the Bachelor of Applied Science (Surveying) programs.
  • Research supervision in the School of Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences Masters and PhD research programs
  • Research activities
    • Geographic Information Science
    • Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry
    • Risk and Community Safety
    • Cartography and Geographic Visualisation
    • Satellite Positioning for Atmosphere, Climate and environment (SPACE Research Centre)

More information about study and research in Geospatial Science is available through the Programs and courses and Research specialties areas of the web site.

We invite you to contact the School of Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences at any time to discuss learning, teaching, research and related opportunities in Geospatial Science.

Associate Professor Christopher Bellman, Geospatial Science Head.
