RMIT University’s collaborative research structures are designed to facilitate and support collaborative research activity.
These structures demonstrate RMIT’s diverse research capabilities and provide academics with the opportunity to share knowledge, engage in intellectual debate, collaborate and deliver innovative solutions.
The four Research Institutes represent areas of research excellence and capacity. They provide opportunities for academics from many disciplines across the University to work together on large, complex issues.
Research Centres are located in Schools or Colleges and undertake outcome-related research in particular disciplinary areas.
Research Groups are a key part of the research culture of our Schools in RMIT’s three Academic Colleges. RMIT’s Research Groups focus on a range of contemporary issues and provide opportunities for academics with complementary interests and expertise to collaborate on projects and produce quality research outcomes.
RMIT also participants in a range of multi-institutional research collaborations including Centers of Excellence, externally funded Research Centers and Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs).
