Research collaborations and partnerships with industry and government

The Collaborations and Partnerships team facilitates the building of networks and partnerships with national and international industries, government and peak bodies aligned to RMIT University’s areas of research activity. These partners are linked with our academics who undertake research projects in line with the partners’ needs. The team also provides support for research contractual arrangements and development of intellectual property, the diffusion of research knowledge and building the profile of research externally to RMIT.

Services to Academics

• Advice on cross collaborative projects, partnerships and alliances.
• Build research opportunities by facilitating the development of national and international partnerships and collaborations.
• Provide advice and support relating to the sharing of knowledge generated by research, especially relating to intellectual property and commercialisation.
• Prepare and negotiate research contracts, monitor compliance, due diligence and approval processes.
• Develop opportunities for the internationalisation of RMIT University research, working with RMIT University International Vietnam and other partners.
• Build networks of appropriate government, peak body and industry clients, assist research groups to maintain strong and productive relationships with partners with whom RMIT can generate excellent research and research funds.
• Support and manage RMIT University’s involvement in Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs).
