Online learning at RMIT
Blackboard is a learning management system that can manage a variety of educational applications.
All undergraduate courses (and many postgraduate courses) at RMIT have a Blackboard site, which can be used for a variety of teaching activities:
- distributing and organising information (documents, presentations, links, etc), using customisable course areas and folders
- communicating with students using announcements, discussion boards and virtual classrooms
- managing student collaborative and reflective activities using wikis and blogs
- conducting online assessment with tests, quizzes and assignment submission
- recording and distributing student grades.
All RMIT teaching staff have access to a support program - LSTS: Learning Systems Technical Support – which provides material and guides for using Blackboard.
