Application process for international students

The process below applies to all international students except those studying the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). International students currently studying VCE can refer to the International VCE applicant web page for further details.

Step 1: Find a program

Refer to the list of programs available to international students. Check that the program you wish to apply for is available in the intake of your choice. Some programs are not available in the July intake, in which case, your application will be considered for the next available intake.

Step 2: Check entry requirements

  1. Check academic entry requirements
  2. Check the English language entry requirements
  3. Research applicants must identify a suitable research area of interest and a supervisor before lodging an application

Step 3: Complete an application

Please Note: You can apply directly to RMIT using the steps below or through a RMIT representative in your country.

  1. There are no application deadlines, however, students are encouraged to apply 3-4 months prior to the program commencement date. Offers are subject to availability of places.
  2. To ensure that your application is processed in a timely manner, all applicants must submit a complete set of supporting documents
  3. Complete either the electronic or paper based application form available below. Please do not complete both.

Please note: Standard applications generally take between three and five business days to process. The following applications may take up to two to three weeks to process:

  • research applications
  • applications requiring assessment of folios and
  • applications requiring credit exemptions.
