These partnerships provide an opportunity for research collaboration and for RMIT students to gain international industry experience giving them the competitive edge needed in today's global knowledge economy.

RMIT is at the cutting edge of innovation in automotive design. Facilities include a specialised engine and supercharger test facility and an industrial wind tunnel used by industry partners. The Advanced Manufacturing Precinct offers industry partners further opportunities for testing and development.

RMIT achievements in automotive innovation include developing Australia’s first hydrogen-powered racing car in partnership with Germany’s Fachhochschule Ingolstadt University of Applied Science, developing an all-electric Formula SAE Racecar in partnership with the AutoCRC and La Trobe University, and research into sustainable automotive solutions in partnership with Hyundai Kia Motors in the Republic of Korea.

RMIT’s Centre for Sustainable Organisations and Work encompasses the Ports and Maritime Logistics research cluster, delivering high impact research that addresses issues and trends in Port development, Maritime Logistics and International Supply Chains. RMIT is also a Foundation Member of the Alliance for Supply Chain Innovation (ASCI), providing industry-supported research in logistics and supply chain management.
