Experimenta Speak Up is a series of after-hours sessions on media art and contemporary culture. This session will feature Cake Industries. The assumption that something free is of less value is not always correct. The common approach when developing media art technology is to purchase commercial software/products in order to ensure the best outcome. Jesse Stevens and Dean Petersen of Cake Industries have a different point of view. They will discuss the open source/free tools and methods they utilise both in their practice, as well as in their artistic consulting work.
