RMIT student email

As an RMIT student, you have access to your own RMIT student email account, which is powered by Google email (Gmail) and is part of your Google Apps account.

RMIT will communicate with you by using your RMIT student email account. As agreed to in the Statement of student responsibilities, it is essential that you regularly (at least twice a week) check this email account for important messages.

How to log in

Log in to myRMIT with your RMIT network username and password, then select Open my email.

Your email address is:

  • your student number@student.rmit.edu.au.
    • Example: s1234567@student.rmit.edu.au.

Your default password is the letter ‘p’, followed by your date of birth backwards with an exclamation mark (!) at the end.

    • Example: if your date of birth is 8 April 1992, your password would be p19920408!

After your first login, you will be prompted to create a new password.

By logging in to your RMIT student email account, you will have access to Google Apps.

Note: When accessing your Gmail or Google Apps account on a public/shared computer, do not check ‘Stay signed in’, to ensure no-one else is able to access your account.
