Abstract:
An ever-increasing number of consumers seek health information from the Internet. In response Governments and health agencies are increasingly using the Internet as a means of distributing health information. With a growing number of Websites offering health and medical information concerns relating to information quality, trust worthiness and the effectiveness and usefulness of Websites have become a major issue. Health consumers face numerous problems in conducting an Internet search for health information. Among the problems are poor quality information, difficulty in finding relevant information and Websites with poor usability. This presentation will explore some of the issues and discuss one approach that goes some way to addressing these issues.
