The Tianjin Connection
During May 2008 Susan Barr, Associate Director, Corporate Executive Education, joined a high level business mission to China led by the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, John So. Comprised of some twenty representatives from sixteen organizations from industries for which Melbourne has a global reputation, including others from RMIT, the mission’s purpose was to explore business and partnerships in Tianjin, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Pondering Plato
The GSB’s special series of seminars celebrating 30 years of MBA education at RMIT got off to a lively start when Professor Peter Sheldrake explored the teachings of Plato and their relevance to modern business practice. A keen discussion developed as alumni and students debated whether it is indeed human nature to be guided by self interest and how this might determine the way we use power and manage others.
